About Us

A mushroom business doesn't have to be fancy or expensive. The key to success is an intimate understanding of the fungi as a living being -- one with its own character, needs and weaknesses. This is exactly the approach we take at the EkofungiSchool in Belgrade, Serbia. Rooted in both science and practice, we give you the firm knowledge base from which to grow your sustainable and profitable mushroom business.
  • 1998

Mushroom Farming from Waste Around the World

Together with sustainability visionary Gunter Pauli, EkofungiSchool's Ivanka and Milan completed a variety of integrated mushroom-from-waste projects across four continents. Seeds of a Revolution: First Ever Mushroom Cultivation on Coffee Waste

Ivanka from the EkofungiSchool and Dr. Sylvia Barbieri from the Polytechnic University of Torino cultivated the world's first mushroom on coffee waste at Ekofungi's production facilities in Belgrade. Enthusiasts from around the world started coming to Ekofungi to learn how to grow mushrooms on coffee waste.

  • 2013
